Standard Bank is one of the largest banking concerns in South Africa. Every year they assist a limited amount of talented individuals with their learnership program. For the right candidates wishing to enter the world of banking, Standard Bank may be the key.
What Does the Standard Bank Learnership Program Offer?
Selected candidates will sign a 12 month learnership contract and during this time they will receive practical, as well as theoretical training. This training will be focused on their field.
With this learnership program candidates can look at some of the following fields and more as made available by Standard Bank.
- ATM Technician
- Loans Officer
- Debt Counselor
Costs Covered by Learnership
With this 12 month learnership program selected candidates will learn all the day to day workings of the banking industry. Selected candidates will need to sign a learnership contract, as well as an employment contract and will receive a monthly stipend during their learnership.
Upon completion of their learnership, successful candidates will also receive a National Banking Certificate, level 4.
Transport, accommodation and meals are not included, and depending on your location, as well as that of the company, some candidates may be required to move.
Applicants must be a citizen of South Africa and between 18 and 30 years of age. Candidates who wish to apply must also meet all requirements as set out by Standard Bank.
The basic requirements are as follow:
Applicants must hold a valid Matric certification
Applicants must hold a minimum of 50% for Mathematics and Accounting on their year-end results
Applicants must be able to read, write and communicate with proficiency in English
Applicants must be knowledgeable to work with computers
Applicants must not hold any other learnership or be employed
Applicants must be able to function in a team and individually
