Sasol is a South African Petrochemical Company that is a major player in our economy. They primarily offer bursaries for engineering, science and commerce to cater for their own internal work requirements.
Admission Criteria
The matric mark symbols required are listed in the following two tables

Other important criteria
- Only applications for full time study for a degree at an accredited South African University, no Technikons and Colleges.
- Students that are already studying at a University should have passed all their course subjects up to that point
- Bursary is only for South African Citizens
- All bursary applicants that are called up for interviews must be willing to undergo a psychometric test
- Your final matric results will be scrutinized by Sasol if they differ from your application results, thus the student must work hard to maintain a high standard
Application Process
- Applications must be done by the 29th of February for the academic year
- Applications are to be submitted online but there is a hotline number for those that do not have internet access 086 010 6235
- Short listed applicants will be notified telephonically and by mail before the middle of march
- Short listed candidates will then be required to attend a day session comprising of an interview and the psychometric tests. These sessions are usually scheduled for the March/April school holidays and Sasol provides a travelling stipend to students that require assistance with travelling fees
- All the applicants will then be notified in the middle of May if they have been selected.
- Successful candidates will receive all the required documentation from Sasol and the bursary will be activated upon commencement of studies the next year.
What the bursary covers
- All prescribed University tuition, registration and exam fees.
- Accommodation and meal fees as prescribed by the University and Sasol
- Sasol will also provide the student with about R8000 per year for books and pocket money
